Terms of Service
These terms explain how we work together on your website: what you get, what it costs, who owns what and what happens if plans change. We have kept them as short and plain as we can.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to all work carried out by Afresco Web Studio ("Afresco", "we", "us"), run by Ludmila Alcuri, business registration CNPJ 36.938.613/0001-11, for you, our client ("you").
Our services are for businesses. By accepting a quote you confirm that you are acting for a business, not as a consumer.
Your quote and these terms together form our agreement. If anything in your quote differs from these terms, the quote takes priority.
2. Quotes and starting work
We will send you a written quote describing the work, the price and anything specific to your project. Quotes are valid for 30 days.
Our agreement begins when you accept the quote in writing, for example by replying to our email to say you are happy to go ahead.
Free homepage mockups. If you ask for a free homepage mockup, there is no charge and no obligation for either of us. A mockup is a design preview for you to consider. The design remains ours unless you go ahead with a project, so please do not use it, or pass it to someone else to build, without our agreement.
3. What is included
We offer three website packages. Your quote confirms which one applies and lists exactly what is included.
- Starter, £499: up to 5 pages, mobile-friendly design, contact form, Google Maps integration, links to your social media, your accreditation badges, a before-and-after project gallery, basic SEO setup, analytics setup and one round of revisions.
- Standard, £999: everything in Starter, plus up to 10 pages, your Google reviews shown on your site, local area pages for up to 3 towns you cover and two rounds of revisions.
- Premium, from £1,950: everything in Standard, plus bespoke visual design, a signature scroll animation, a larger site scoped with you and more local area pages. The final price depends on the scope agreed in your quote.
Showing your Google reviews relies on Google's own services. If Google changes or limits them, we will agree the best alternative with you.
4. What is not included
Unless your quote says otherwise, our prices do not include domain registration, hosting fees, paid third-party services (such as premium plugins, fonts, stock images or booking systems), professional copywriting, photography, advanced e-commerce or complex custom systems.
If your project needs anything extra, we will always tell you, and agree the cost with you, before that work begins.
5. What we need from you
- The text, images, logos and other information for your website, sent in good time.
- Access to your existing website, domain or hosting accounts where we need it.
- Feedback on drafts within a reasonable time.
- Confirmation that you own, or have permission to use, everything you send us, and that it is accurate and lawful.
You are responsible for the content you provide, including making sure that any claims, prices, accreditations and legal information about your business are correct.
6. Timescales
Most small business websites are completed within 7 to 14 working days once we have received all the information and materials we need from you. Larger projects will have a timescale in the quote.
Timescales are estimates. If materials or feedback arrive late, the timetable moves accordingly. We will keep you informed if anything on our side affects the date.
7. Reviews and revisions
You will see your website before it goes live. Each round of revisions is a single, combined list of changes to the design and content we have prepared. Starter includes one round; Standard and Premium include two.
Further rounds, or changes that go beyond the agreed scope (such as new pages or new features), can be added and will be quoted before we start them.
8. Prices and payment
All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). VAT is not currently added to our prices: the price quoted is the amount you pay.
Payment is made by bank transfer to our Wise UK account. We will send you the bank details, including a sort code and account number, so you can pay by a normal UK bank transfer.
The payment schedule and due dates are set out in your quote. We may pause work, or wait before publishing the website, while a payment is overdue.
9. Ownership
Once your project has been paid for in full, the finished website, including its design and the content we created for it, belongs to you. You are not tied to Afresco and can move the website, or have it managed by someone else, whenever you wish. We will help you with the handover.
Content you supply remains yours throughout. Third-party items, such as fonts, plugins or stock images, remain subject to their own licences, which we will pass on to you where they allow it.
Your domain name stays registered in your name. If we register a domain on your behalf, it will be registered to you.
10. Hosting & Care
Hosting & Care is an optional monthly service, from £29 per month, which can include hosting, backups, technical maintenance and small content updates. The exact contents of your plan are set out in your quote.
There is no long-term contract. You can cancel at any time by email, and the plan will end at the end of the month you have already paid for. Before the plan ends we will help you move the website to another host if you need to.
Small content updates mean minor changes to existing pages, such as text, prices, opening hours or a few images. New pages, redesigns or new features are quoted separately.
11. Changes and cancellation
If you want to change the scope of the project once work has started, we will confirm any effect on price and timing before going ahead.
You can cancel a project at any time by email. You will pay for the work carried out up to the date of cancellation, and any third-party costs already incurred for you.
We may end the agreement if an invoice remains unpaid after a reminder, or if you ask us to do something unlawful. In that case you pay for the work completed so far.
12. Responsibility and liability
We will carry out our work with reasonable care and skill. If something we built does not work as agreed, tell us and we will put it right.
We are not responsible for problems caused by third-party services, hosting providers we do not control, changes made to the website by you or others after handover, or content you supplied. We cannot guarantee particular search engine rankings, numbers of enquiries or sales.
Our total liability to you under any project is limited to the amount you have paid us for that project. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as loss of profit or business. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
13. Showing our work
Once your website is live, we may show it in our portfolio and on social media, with a link to your site. If you would rather we did not, just tell us and we will not include it.
14. General
- We will communicate with you mainly by email, and written confirmation by email counts as "in writing".
- Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control.
- We handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
- We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your project is the one in force when you accepted your quote.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over any dispute.
